Statement of Faith
We believe that the 66 books of the Bible are the complete, divinely inspired Word of God, and are the guide and final authority in matters of faith and day to day life, taught by the Holy Spirit to each believer.
We believe that there is one God who is eternally existent in three co-equal persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God created everything out of nothing in six days, for His own pleasure and purpose.
We believe in the love , grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
We believe that sin entered into the world through Adam and has continued through all time in mankind but when he sinned, we became enemies of God and only through faith in Jesus Christ can we be born again into God's kingdom.
We believe that when man fell, all of creation was cursed and is subject to destruction.
We believe in the historic virgin birth of Jesus Christ and that He is the Son of God
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ lived a perfect and sinless life, and that through dying on the cross He is the perfect sacrifice for our redemption.
We believe that Jesus Christ our Lord rose from the grave on the third day after dying on the cross and showed Himself to over 500 witnesses before he ascended to heaven where he now is a mediator on our behalf with God.
We believe that through the Holy Spirit after conversion we are given power to live our everyday Christian lives
We believe in going out and preaching the Gospel to all, through being Salt and Light in our community
We believe that the Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifts upon us to teach, help, love be patient and to accept each other for who we are.
We believe in the full immersion in water of new believers as being the method of baptism, which means leaving our old lives behind and entering the new one given to us by God.
We take communion in line with biblical instruction.
We believe in the meeting together in fellowship as biblical instruction to do so
We believe in the existence and personality of Satan, his complete opposition to God, His word and His people. We believe that he was defeated at Calvary's cross and his ultimate punishment still awaits him.
We believe that the final destiny of man at death is: Everlasting life in the presence of God for the saved; eternal judgement for the lost because of their unbelief, as they remain unsaved from their sins.
We believe in the future visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to gather the Church, His bride, as He promised
We believe in God's future creation of a new heavens and a new earth, perfect and devoid of the effects of the curse of the fall
The new project for the Wesleyan Reform Union's Overseas Mission Department will this year be to raise £9,000 for a new Cystoscope machine for the Good News Hospital in Mandritsara in Madagscar. All funds that the Word of Life Church raise this year from our Diner's will go towards that fund. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause please contact Pastor Lindsey and she will assist you in making your donation. God Bless.
It is with great pleasure that Pastor Lindsey Hedley took over the reins of the Secretary for the Wesleyan Reform Union Overseas Mission Committe. The baton was handed over by the outgoing secretary Jan Shepherd at Conference in June. Lindsey is looking forward to the challenge ahead as she looks to take the committee team forward in Christian Mission both abroad and at home.
On the 6th of July, we held our annual Summer Praise Event. It was an evening of worshiping and praising our awesome God. Many new songs were rooled out on the night as well as some old favourites, but the presence of God was awesome. We want much much more of that. If you missed it, we will be having another one soon.
On Saturday 18th of May Ayanfe Gdabebo, Haydn Bell and Sharon Delaney all went through the waters of baptism. The event was held at Bedlington Trinity Church, followed by a celebration tea at Word of Life WRU Church.
We had a wonderful time in the presence of God, where three new Christians went through the waters of baptism. Haydn shared his testimony which had many of us in tears. Pictures of the event will be uploaded soon.
A wonderful service was held in the presence of God on Sunday 17th March 2019 to install three deacons into the church.
Graham and Valerie Baldwin and (Toks) Olaronke Ashiru Gbadebo were installed as new church deacons. They agreed to serve as deacons in the church providing assistance to the ruling elders in pastoral visits, maintenance of the church building and serving in general so that the church can properly function.
Photographs of the service are displayed below:

Our first registered wedding service took place in the church on October the 12th 2018. The Couple Ian Sidney Wales married Linda Airey. Linda has attended our coffee mornings for over two years, and Sid has known Michael for many years.
The couple were pronounced man and wife after a beautiful service delivered by Rev Michael Hedley, the signing of the registars was overseen by Lindsey who is the appointed person for wedding services for the church. The wedding was attended by family and friends and they then had a function at the White House Club following the service. We wish them all of God's blessing and favour upon their marriage. Photographs of the service are below.
Our Friday Diner at church is on the last Friday of every month from 12:00 till 2:00pm. Soup and sandwiches and a range of other hot meals will be available for each of the coming months. This is an outreach for those who may be lonely, or who maybe are just in need of company. There is no charge for the food but donations are welcomed. All donations from this monthly event go to the Good News Hospital in Mandritsara in Madagascar for a new Cystoscope machine.
Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday and forever
This is not just breaking news, it is the news from yesterday, today and tomorrow and guess what? It is forever. Hallelujah!!!!!
